Ambulance Donation

IW Club Pune Riverside, D313, India, carried out the ‘Touch A Heart’ Project on the 17th of September 2016, and donated an ambulance to Dr. Rakh’s Hospital.

An advocate of the Beti Bachao Movement, Dr. Rakh performs the delivery free of charge when a girl child is born, and the hospital staff celebrate the birth with song and dance and distribution of sweets. This is to convince parents and relatives that the birth of a girl child is as much an occasion of celebration as that of a son, and to remove the prejudice against daughters. Many doctors and pharmacists have joined hands with Dr. Rakh in this endeavor. The ambulance will be used to transport women from rural areas to Dr. Rakh’s hospital in Manjri village near Pune. This project was sponsored by PDC Smita Pingale, President Niranjna Magar and new member Meena.
