IW Club Kennemerland, D 58, Netherlands, Charter Day 20 June 2015

IW Kennemerland is a group of 13 women, who wants to make a contribution to society and support their neighborhood, specifically the elder house of Jacob in de Hout in Haarlem.

It was a festive day to which many from our own club and others contributed. The guests were welcomed from 10.30 with coffee. Many knew each other already making it to a great and joyful start of the day. Amongst the prominent guests was honorary member Ida Dubbeldam and the country board. The official ceremony started at 11.30.

IW Kennemerland presented herself to all present IW members with a swinging song and a ABC about herself. De country president gave her speech to the new club and read out for us all a letter of the international president. A clear indication of the passionate commitment to society of all IW members. There were also speeches by members of the extension Committee.

During a fantastic power point presentation, the last chartered club of Almere/Gooi passed on the red lantern to our club president. All the new IW members were overwhelmed by the numerous presents and the pennants of sister clubs. Lunch was served after the official program and at 13.30 all of us were given a guided tour through Haarlem and it’s “Hofjes”. A marvelous walk on a bright and sunny day, full of inspiration to make the best out of our IW membership!
